Standard Flawed Specimens  - Advanced Flaw Evaluation

For Level II training, practice and qualifications ie ACCP, ASNT-TC-1A, PCN, EN473, API and others

Advanced flaw evaluation - realistic size welds in common geometry’s available either individually or in sets for advanced training / practice and qualifications.
  • Advanced training and practice prior to qualifications on:
    • Flaw detection
    • Flaw sizing
    • Flaw interpretation
  • Realistic size welds
  • Common weld geometry’s

Each specimen is supplied with:

  • 3 flaws (average)
  • Flaw type, size and location details (flaw truth)
  • Testing and acceptance criteria
  • Certificate of conformance

Specimens are available in UT, RT, MT, PT and VT methods

Sonaspection flawed specimens are available either individually or in sets.
     Individual specimens are manufacture to Sonaspection drawings and specification;
       ●  Contain three different flaws randomly selected from the flaw table
       ●   Are all different – no two specimens are made the same
       ●   Are uniquely numbered
       ●   Are supplied with NDE reports
       ●   Are supplied with acceptance / rejection criteria

       Recommended sets
       ●  Contain a selection of individual specimens as above, with an average of three
           flaws per specimen
       ●  Contain at least one example of each flaw type listed in the flaw table
       ●  Contain a minimum total weld length of 360cm (144”)
